Eating meat makes you a violent sex criminal, according to textbook11/17/2012
Who knew eating meat was a character flaw? That's the assertion of a new textbook in India, which paints carnivores as evil schemers who will ravage you if given the smallest chance. "New Healthway," a hygiene textbook aimed at 11- and 12-year-olds, says that people who eat meat "easily cheat, lie, forget promises" and "turn to violence and commit sex crimes." The book is from S. Chand, one of India's leading publishers, and many academics are concerned about the text, arguing that its heavy-handed advocacy of a vegetarian diet is "poisonous for children." Government officials refuse to restrict the book, saying it's up to individual schools to decide what texts they use. [Source]
