News junkie scales skyscraper to get a copy of the NY Times
3/26/2012An information-hungry New Yorker took the term "news junkie" to new heights when he scaled the side of The New York Times' high-rise and then explained it by saying he wanted a copy of the newspaper. He was spotted around 7 a.m. Saturday outside the fifth floor of the 52-story building and apprehended by police after he climbed back down. The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, but whether he was rattled by the paper's recent hikes in price or simply couldn't wait until morning to do the crossword puzzle, no one will ever know. The lesson? Don't come between a man and his increasingly obsolete form of obtaining news.
What would you climb a tall building to get?
