It's all I can do right now to not leave work and go straight to my kids' school... take them home and never let them out of my sight again

12/14/2012The horrifying notion of children at Sandy Hook Elementary School being led past dead classmates to safety put a common thought in the heads of parents far from the Connecticut shooting: Taking their own kids out of school early just to be with them. Tweeted @trutone1, "Good day to take off early and pick up the kids from school personally. They can ride the bus any day :-)." Surely that could be a comfort to both child and adult, as long as their parents come across as calm and positive, and don't make their own fears weigh on the kids.
