Newtown survivor's lawyer drops $100 million claim

1/2/2013

Sometimes online outrage makes a difference. The Connecticut lawyer who had requested permission to sue the state for $100 million on behalf of the parents of a 6-year-old Sandy Hook shooting survivor has withdrawn his client's claim — for the time being. "I was getting hundreds of [Facebook] comments" about the possible lawsuit, attorney Irving Pinsky explained. "So I figured I'd take [the request] off the table for now." Pinsky claimed his client had been traumatized by the attack in which 20 classmates perished and had not been protected by the state from "foreseeable harm." Pinsky says he reserves the right to revive the claim. [Source]
