Football is safe once more: Feds seize $17M in fake NFL goods, tickets
2/24/2013U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized $17 million worth of counterfeit NFL merchandise and fake Super Bowl tickets, and made 41 arrests in an operation that began in September and ended on Feb 6. "Operation Red Zone," as it was termed, also shut down 313 websites used to move the false merch. 168 counterfeit tickets (valued at over $154k) were also seized. Don't worry, everyone: Budget cuts loom and we're still involved in overseas conflicts, but thankfully, football is still in the clear. Next up: The government's multibillion dollar operation to shut down any apple pie operations not run by Mom. [Source]
