Carolina Panthers star gives $100K to Aurora victims
7/27/2012Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith has donated $100,000 to the city of Aurora, Colo., with instructions that the money should be distributed to shooting victims to help with their rapidly mounting medical bills. "As a father and husband I cannot imagine the pain and suffering the victims are going through," Smith said in a statement. "My family's hearts and prayers are extended to theirs." John Fox, the current Denver Broncos coach and Smith's former coach at Carolina, says he expects their entire team to reach out to the community. "We're going to do our absolute best," Fox said. "[The players] are out there, they want to give back and they want to somehow lift the spirits." [Source]
