Second-graders practice spelling by correcting NFL tweets
2/3/2013For most second-graders, practicing spelling and grammar means reading some nonsense sentences about Dick and Jane walking their dog to the market. But at least one teacher has brought an innovative new teaching tool into the English classroom: NFL players' Twitter accounts. The students have corrected tweets from the 49ers' Chris Culliver, Patriots' Wes Welker, and the Lions' Titus Young, but there are plenty more still to fix. They should probably be careful which players they choose to follow, however; some players tweet about decidedly non-second-grade material. [Source]
