NHL star gets dumped while he gets married

Right in the middle of NHL star Jordan Staal's wedding, his team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, were busy finalizing a separation. A friend informed Staal during the reception that, after six seasons in Pittsburgh, the team had traded him to the Carolina Hurricanes while he was exchanging vows of commitment with his new wife. So less than 24 hours into his honeymoon, Staal was holding a press conference about the deal, which puts him on the same team as his brother Eric. "With my teammates in the back corner, it got a little emotional," Staal said. "Instead of just texting each other, we could hang out and say our goodbyes."
