No one knows who donated $3,300 ring to cancer hospital

Staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, Conn., were stunned last week when they discovered a wedding band and an engagement ring in the hospital chapel. The valuables weren't left there by accident. "I would like to donate this ring to cancer patients," read a note written on the back of a bandage, signed only "Cancer Survivor's Wife." Hospital workers and patients described the generous donation -- the ring is reportedly worth $3,300 -- as "wonderful" and "a beautiful gesture." The donor's identity is still unknown, but we won't be surprised if her heart-warming story is dramatized in a Lifetime movie sometime soon.
