Tweeps baffled how most of Europe won the Nobel Peace Prize

Nothing fires up the Twittersphere more than good old-fashioned controversy. After the Nobel Committee announced Friday that the recipient of this year's Peace Prize would be the crisis-ridden European Union, social media was ablaze with tweeps offering their bewildered responses. The prize was awarded for the EU's contributions to advance "peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe," but many tweeters have pointed out that it's a strange time for the Union to receive the $1.2 million prize when there are riots in the streets as some members teeter on the brink of financial Armageddon.
