Luxury retailer Nordstrom comes out in support of gay marriage10/16/2012
Fire up those credit cards, gay-rights advocates — it's time to go shopping. Nordstrom has issued a memo to employees explaining that the luxury retailer is taking a stand in favor of gay marriage because it's consistent with the company's "long-time philosophy of inclusivity and equality." "We gave this thoughtful consideration and felt the time was right to come out in support of this civil rights issue," wrote execs Blake, Erik and Pete Nordstrom. How the move will affect the company's business is unclear, judging from Twitter response. "I won't be shopping there anymore," sniffed one tweep. Another wrote, "Never bought anything there before, but will make point of doing so now. Hope they're having a sale." [Source]
