'Doomsday' is near: hellish hotel to open after 26 years (maybe)
11/3/2012While they always leave the light on for you at Motel 6, they can't even get the lights on at the Hotel of Doom. That's what they call the Ryugyong, the monstrous hulk in Pyongyang, North Korea, that's been under construction for a mere 26 years. It's also been called the "Worst Building in the History of Mankind" and "hideously ugly, even by communist standards," and is a monument not only to misspent millions but reportedly poor construction, as well. But now the good news: it's set to open in 2013, but with only 150 of the once-planned 3,000 rooms. So you'd better have a reservation. Actually, you should have a lot of reservations. [Source]
