Notre Dame to wear not-so-subtle Irish flag football cleats
5/8/2012Nike doesn't save all its over-the-top costume choices for Oregon's football team. Notre Dame is opening the 2012 season against Navy at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, and if you don't think NBC cutting away to shots of every cultural identifier -- Dublin Castle, the Blarney Stone, any pub within a 10-mile radius -- will hammer it home to viewers that, "Hey, the Irish are playing in Ireland!", this will. Yes, that's the Irish flag represented in the colors of these cleats Notre Dame will don on game day. Maybe they aren't subtle, but what better footwear choice for the loyal sons marching onward to victory?
Which country's flag would make the coolest shoes?
