Tim Tebow takes time out to be a 9-year-old’s dream date

24 Feb 2012 21:43:56 GMT

It's not all humility and piety for Tim Tebow. Sometimes a guy has to make a buck and even take a walk on the dark side (like having dinner with Fred Durst). But even his snarkiest detractors have to admit that the Broncos quarterback walks the talk -- as when he took the time to escort then-9-year-old Presli Collins, who suffers from a rare tumor disorder and is a huge Tebow fan, to the Cartoon Network awards in Los Angeles. His preteen date was understandably thrilled -- she said the quarterback "was a thousand times nicer than you think he is."

Check out the msnNOW home page.

Do you think this makes Tebow different from his teammates?

In this day and age of Athletic scandals and tainted "heroes" ,way to go.  So yeah , there are a lot of people who follow his story waiting for a misstep. It will happen someday , he is "forgiven not perfect". I , for one , am glad to see some athletes deciding to become real heroes again , instead of swell headed badass partiers with an exaggerated sense of entitlement. So, Tim Tebow , continue to be faithful to your beliefs and who you are. It gives hope that the world can change , even if it is just one man at a time.

Probably from most of them, as he is different from a lot people.  He is, by all accounts, a devout Christian, who actually is the person you see in whatever environment. Non religious people can't comprehend those who are self-sacrificing, selfless people, especially celebrities.  There are, however, millions of Tim Tebow s who come in the personas of moms, dads, friends or relatives, who would do most anything to help their fellow men.  Of course, those folks aren't  famous so it doesn't make headlines or blog stories.  The biggest difference with Tebow is that he probably has more temptations thrown his way than the average Joe but he looks to have his life together in that what might be a temptation for one person wouldn't be so much for him.

the old indian said there are two wolves within everyone,a good wolf and a bad one.the young indian asked "which one influences me."?the old indian replied," the one you feed "the bad wolf when fed gets even hungrier and will eventually devour you,the good wolf when fed loves you and will be tame.Tim feeds the good wolf and has already won the battle for his own soul...if we all would do likewise our inner joy will exceed our wildest dreams.the bad wolf is a taker..the good wolf is a giver......if one seeks peace of mind go and do likewise.

just wondering did he get payed to take the sick girl out the way they worded it that what it sounds like

The 'make a buck' is a different color, because it is a link to a different story about Tim Tebow.

So, no, the author of this article did NOT make it seem like Tim Tebow was paid to take this little girl to the award show.

Unfortunately, I did notice that the camera had to be on.  I think that randoom acts of kindness should not have to be applauded, but I guess when your a quarterback someone's going to want an autograph or a picture.  Keep up the good works, Tebow.

First I like to thank God for Tim's testimony...  We can pat him on the back all we want,, but his strength comes from God,,, and  Tim needs our prays...    Next,  have you ever wondered why Tim has so much publicity?   The media thinks he will make a mistake and mess up his testiomony so they can destroy him...   And shame on us!   should not all of us that wear the name of Christ be just as Tim?  Christians silence in this nation has allowed our enemies to come in take rule over us!!!!   Wake Up!  Cry aloud now while you have power!!!!!   Or  cry later when you in pain and sorrow!!!!!
