Obama jokes on 'The View' that he's 'just eye candy here'

Monday in New York, President Obama skipped meeting other world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly. Instead, joined by first lady Michelle Obama, he granted an audience to the hosts of “The View,” taping a segment of the ABC daytime talk show (to air Tuesday morning). The highlight of the interview came when Barbara Walters playfully chided the first lady that the president was her “date,” leading Obama to reply “I've been told I'm just eye candy here.” Obama also joked that following his presidency that the first lady “should run for office, but she says she doesn’t want to," which Michelle Obama readily affirmed.
