Obama pardons turkeys, but not without skewering Republicans

it's past time to put the traditional pardoning of the turkey on the chopping block, but at least Barack Obama managed to dish out cold leftovers from the election while doing his presidential duty. This year a Facebook vote decided which bird would be spared and Obama cracked, "Once again, Nate Silver completely nailed it,"  referencing the analyst whose poll science was mocked by Republicans. Even his vanquished opponent, who whined that Obama won the election with "gifts" to voters, got a jab: "In the spirit of the season, I have one more gift to give," the president said, "and it goes to a pair of turkeys."
