Obama says his first clunker didn't help him with the ladies
3/24/2012He may now ride in a bullet- and bombproof Cadillac limousine reportedly nicknamed "the Beast," but President Obama's first car was a bit more humble: a Ford Granada. AAA asked the president about his first ride during an interview, and Obama -- while clarifying that Ford "is doing great now" -- took some air out of the brand's discontinued sedan by saying it was "not the peak of Detroit engineering." While the ride quality had some issues ("it rattled and shook"), the biggest problem seems to be the unlovely car's effect on the teenage Obama's love life: "I don't think the girls were particularly impressed when I came to pick them up in a Ford Granada," the president said.
