Obama replies to 10-year-old who writes cute letter about her two dads

A 10-year-old San Diego girl was more than a little pleasantly surprised when President Obama himself replied recently to a letter she wrote him in May. In her letter, Sophia Bailey-Klugh thanked Obama for his position on same-sex marriage, writing, “I am so glad you agree that two men can love each other because I have two [dads] and they love each other.” She also noted that she was sometimes teased at school because of her parents’ sexual orientation. In his reply, Obama told Klugh to remind her schoolmates about the Golden Rule: “A good rule is to treat others the way you hope they will treat you.” We’re sure the girl’s two dads are proud of their politically precocious kid — we would be, too.
