If Mikel Ruffinelli's 100-inch hips aren't enough to get you to the gym, how about the news that obese people are more likely to die in car crashes? If you've got a morbidly obese BMI of 40 or higher, your chances of biting the dust in a wreck are 80 percent higher than a normal-sized person's, according to transport safety scientists who analyzed more than 57,000 accidents. Hauling around an obese but slightly svelter 35.0 to 39.9 BMI? Your chances of dying are 51 percent higher. One theory is that, because seat belts are typically designed for regular-sized folks, chubbier drivers don’t use their belts properly. [Source]
