Officer goes to wrong address, shoots and kills man's dog
4/17/2012Michael Paxton says an Austin police officer shot and killed his dog while responding to a bungled domestic-disturbance call. According to Paxton, he'd been playing Frisbee with his beloved Cisco when the officer arrived, drew his gun and told Paxton to put his hands up. Cisco ran toward the officer, who allegedly shot the dog at point-blank range before realizing that he was at the wrong address.
Paxton has started a "Justice for Cisco" Facebook page, which has quickly collected more than 37,000 "Likes" as his story ripped the country's collective hearts out. "I'm not looking for...the officer to be fired," Paxton says. "My dog is dead and I want this to not happen to someone else."
Was the officer wrong to have fired at Cisco?
