Ohio school district will arm janitors with handguns as well as mops
1/11/2013That jingle from the ring of keys on a school custodian's belt in Montpelier, Ohio, might now be accented by his gun. The Montpelier Exempted Village Schools Board of Education voted 5-0 to allow four janitors at the town's K-12 school to start packing heat after passing a two-day class in firearms training. Superintendent Jamie Grime said discussion of the policy began even before the Sandy Hook shooting. Grime argued, "Having guns in the hands of the right people are not a hindrance," some mangled syntax that suggests the district might want to focus more on academics than target practice. Meanwhile, this should curb any problems with graffiti in the boys' room. [Source]
