Oklahoma teen planned to bomb school on same day as Newtown shooting12/15/2012
A Bartlesville, Okla., student, 18-year-old Sammie Eaglebear Chavez, was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly planning to bomb his high school on the very same day as the Sandy Hook massacre. The police say they learned about the plot, which involved bombing the school and shooting its students, on Thursday, with just enough time to stop Chavez at 4:30 a.m. on Friday. According to an arrest affidavit, Chavez tried to persuade other students to help him in his plot. He intended to lure kids into the auditorium, close the doors and shoot en masse. The Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise also reports that he planned to detonate bombs as police arrived. He is currently being held on bond, to the tune of $1 million. [Source]
