Lochte given choice of gold or grill; forced to remove mouth jewelry

Olympic 400-meter winner Ryan Lochte has plenty of sparkle these days, but his distinctive American flag-themed diamond grill was missing when he took the podium Saturday. Olympic officials reportedly told Lochte he would be refused the medal if he didn’t remove his patriotic grill for the podium. In this instance, diamonds for gold seem like a good trade, but we’re not so fond of the rigid dress code. Lochte wore a diamond grill accepting a FINA World Championship medal in Shanghai -- with his smile (and  physique!) he can definitely pull off any sort of outré fashion he pleases. [Source]
