Dopey Olympians forced to give back 2004 medals

12/6/2012

Thought this guy looked way too brawny when he launched that shotput during the 2004 Athens Olympics? You were right. Gold medalist Yuriy Bilonog of Ukraine has retroactively tested positive for doping, along with three other Eastern European athletes who've all been asked to return their hardware. Bilonog, hammer-thrower Ivan Tsikhan of Belarus, Russian shotputter Svetlana Krivelyova and discus-thrower Irina Yatchenko (also of Belarus) can hunch their ultra-buff shoulders as they follow Lance Armstrong down the druggie walk of shame. They were snagged by the International Olympic Committee when officials used newfangled detection methods to retest old samples. Athens is now officially the "dirtiest" Olympics on record, with a total of 31 disqualified dopers. [Source]
