Which is why the essay by Grant Hunter, who designed London’s Olympic mascots, titled “They’re Not Creepy” is so inherently self-defeating. Looking not unlike mutant robot-lobsters, whose confusion at their own existence pulses through one giant, rageful eye staring helplessly from a mouthless head, the mascots have alarmed countless Olympic fans worldwide.
