Boxer Omar Henry dies of cancer at age 252/2/2013
The boxing world is reeling Friday after the death of Omar Henry, a 25-year-old welterweight. Henry was diagnosed with stage 4 gall bladder cancer in November and spent three months undergoing treatment at the University of Chicago Hospital. With a professional boxing record of 12-0-1, he was a rising star, but once he was diagnosed, his dreams changed; he posted on his Facebook page that he wanted to live to see his 26th birthday, which was Feb. 8. In a December interview, Henry said, "Life and death has never come so close, especially since I was so close to the top of my career. … Now, I could literally be dead tomorrow. … God has a purpose and we can't question God."
