Boozin' broads: One in eight women binge drinks, says CDC

1/9/2013

One in eight women and one in five high school girls engage in binge drinking, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The report found that binge drinking — downing four or more drinks in a sitting — is more common in white women and those in households with incomes over $75,000. While the hooch-guzzling is more prevalent in men, the CDC says excessive alcohol intake is "an under recognized problem for women and girls" that's implicated in 23,000 female deaths a year in the U.S. and contributes to a host of other health problems in women.
