The Onion apologizes for calling young Oscar nominee the C-word
2/25/2013The Onion has finally apologized for a tweet that caused a stink on Oscar night. The satirical paper's feed joked, "Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhané Wallis is kind of a c*nt, right?," referring to the 9-year-old best actress nominee. Onion CEO Steve Hannah took to Facebook to eat crow. "Miss Wallis, you are young and talented and deserve better. All of us at The Onion are deeply sorry," he wrote. He also assured readers that he was "taking immediate steps to discipline those individuals responsible." Looks like an Onion gag writer may be looking for work.
