Your mom's maiden name will probably not deter hackers
8/9/2012It turns out all those annoying security questions you get asked when signing into your online accounts don’t really provide you with, well, security. When Wired writer Matt Honan was hacked, the hackers couldn't provide Apple with the answers to his security questions, but Apple issued a temporary password anyway. The problem is that not only are strong security questions hard to design, but that most answers to those questions are easily found online. A key suggestion: use a cellphone verify code as the security key. [Source]
