Oregon Ducks' mascot loses his head (literally) whilst skydiving

It's a bird ... it's a plane ... it's headless skydiving! Among college mascots, Oregon's Puddles the Duck may be the closest thing to Superman, given the rock-star status he seems to have been accorded by ESPN. So when the network asked Puddles (or a surrogate inside the mascot's suit) to do a parachuting stunt for Saturday's GameDay broadcast, no big deal, right? Except that before taking the leap from 7,000 feet, the duck's massive head flew off. ESPN's Chris Fowler tweeted out an APB for the head ("a third-string model," he reassured fans) and it was later found in a farmer's field. Hey, it could have been worse.
