Organ made of 20,000 Lego pieces plays ‘Star Wars’ theme
4/17/2012The fine-tuning Force was definitely with the makers of this musical and architectural masterpiece: an organ made of 20,000 Lego bricks that plays the "Star Wars" theme. The amazing instrument was constructed out of "Star Wars" Legos arranged on a barrel. When the unit is cranked by hand, the pieces hit levers, which in turn press keys on a keyboard to play the famous song. The organ was created by German ad firm Serviceplan, in conjunction with Rene Hoffmeister, a "Lego professional" (how does one earn that title?). The melodious contraption is touring Germany ahead of the upcoming 3-D release of "Star Wars: Episode One: The Phantom Menace" before reaching its permanent home at Legoland Germany later this year.
What do you think of this geekified organ?
