Philly officials tell resident: quit cleaning up weed-filled lot
9/20/2012Truly no good deed goes unpunished. A Philadelphia man who spent $20,000 of his own money to clean up a trash-strewn, weeded lot next to his coffee shop has come under fire from city officials for being a trespasser. Ori Feibush said he tried to purchase the lot and even visited the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority to present his plan. He finally took matters into his own hands and poured a new sidewalk and installed a bench and picnic table. But the city told him to stop, warning he was endangering the public. Feibush said he intends to keep maintaining the lot and would be happy to buy it if the city will let him. [Source]
