Holy nostalgia, Batman! The original Batmobile is up for auction
11/30/2012Love the Caped Crusader? Here's your chance to own a piece of American pop culture history: The original Batmobile is going up for auction in Arizona on Jan. 19. At stake is a 19-foot, 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car, which was hand-built in Turin, Italy, and debuted at the 1955 Chicago Auto Show. It was transformed for Batman by car customizer George Barris in 1965, in just two weeks, for only $15,000. As for the auction price: The reserve on the car won't be revealed, and it certainly won't come cheap: "Let's just say it's in the multimillions," a representative for the Barrett-Jackson auction house said.
