'Mwahahaha,' 'lolz,' other hipster terms added to online dictionary

8/23/2012

If you want to check the spelling of "mwahahaha" before hitting "Send" on your next email, look it up on Oxford Dictionaries Online, an Oxford English Dictionary brand. The expression has just earned a spot in the esteemed online word bible, complete with a totally buzzkilling definition and a pronunciation recording by its very own robotic enunciation wizard. The venerable OED has also deigned to admit a slew of other hipster phrases, including "lolz," "soul patch," "ridic" and "photobomb." Hey, kids, time to get working on some new expressions. The oldsters have these all figured out. [Source]
