Debate flows over whether kids should pee in public9/17/2012
When you gotta go, you gotta go — especially when you're 2. But just because you're a chubby-cheeked toddler, does that mean it's okay to drop trou and urinate in public? The question is the subject of an odd debate that's been trickling into parenting circles recently. The conversation gained attention after a Philadelphia mom was ticketed by police for letting her 2-year-old pee in a patch of grass. She argued he couldn't hold it anymore, and pointed to the trials of potty-training, as well as the relative cleanliness of urine (dogs do it and no one seems to mind). Many have come to her side, advocating the practice be accepted, as it is in many other western countries. Yet opponents call the behavior disgusting and say it promotes bad behavior. [Source]
