Shame on you, parents, for telling these popular lies to your kids
1/23/2013Feeling guilty about that big fat lie you just told your kid about where the dead dog actually went? Don't worry, everyone's doing it, according to a study by an international research team, which interviewed 200 families. The top fib? "Stop that right now or I'm going to leave you here and walk away" tops the list of parental untruths. OK, lying to illicit good behavior may be understandable, but some parents admitted saying they'd call the cops, while others employed the "If you don't follow me, a kidnapper will kidnap you while I'm gone" deception. The study found no significant difference in the lies told by moms and dads. [Source]
