Olympic athletes' parents shut out in ticket nightmare

7/30/2012

The Olympic butt-free seat scandal may have hit a new bottom. Among those unable score tickets to the Games while seats in prime areas remain empty are parents of some of the Olympians themselves. Some family members and friends of athletes have missed their kids' big moments thanks to a complex ticketing system that has left them shut out of venues at the last minute. "Parents keep calling the athletes," one International Olympic Committee member told the Telegraph. "No one knows where the tickets are, and it is not very good preparation for the athletes to be so stressed about it." The Olympic committee deserves a gold medal in heartbreakingly-bad planning.
