Family returns from vacation to find their car being used as a shuttle

9/8/2012

In a scene reminiscent of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," a German family returning from vacation got a unique welcome home gift when their own car greeted them at the airport — and other people got in. It turns out, the vehicle they’d parked at the airport was being used by a shuttle service firm. The company said it was a mistake, but managed to rack up 250 miles on the car while the family was away. What’s more, the 21-year-old who’d used it as a shuttle didn’t have a driver's license. We forget — does driving backward take miles off the odometer? [Source]
