Passengers spend almost a full day on domestic flight

Flights lasting 19 hours are common enough for an international journey but for a domestic U.S. trip? Passengers on board a Spirit Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale reached their destination 12 hours late after the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Houston on Saturday. The pilot diverted his aircraft after an elderly blind passenger became too unruly for the crew to handle (he was later released from custody after the pilot decided not to press charges). Upon landing in Houston, the remaining passengers were stuck on the tarmac for 10 hours as they waited for another plane to fly them to Florida. Spirit Airlines has apologized and offered them full refunds.
