Pat Robertson makes lame joke advising wife-beating

Does Pat Robertson know that facetiousness doesn’t play well on TV, or did he just reveal himself as a supporter of domestic abuse? On the latest incendiary segment of "The 700 Club," Robertson fielded a question from a  viewer named Michael, whose wife "has become a real problem." Robertson immediately suggests the man could "become a Muslim and you could beat her." Co-host Terry Meeuwsen, who sounded appalled but is probably used to this, pointedly asked what Robertson would advise "in lieu of that." Robertson helpfully summed up: "you can’t divorce her, according to Scripture ... so I say move to Saudi Arabia." Good solution! [Source]
