Patriots easily take down Texans to claim a spot in the AFC title game
1/14/2013Tom Brady and the Patriots dismantled the Houston Texans 41-28 to secure a spot in the AFC Championship. This was the fourth NFL divisional playoff game of the weekend, and after two nail-biting finishes and a high-energy performance by Colin Kaepernick, the Patriots-Texans matchup was almost an afterthought. Brady passed for 344 yards, including three touchdowns and no interceptions, as the New England offense put on a clinic, despite losing both Rob Gronkowski and Danny Woodhead to injury. Houston quarterback Matt Schaub passed for 343 yards and Arian Foster ran for 90, but it wasn’t enough for the overmatched Texans to keep pace with the Pats. New England will face the Baltimore Ravens, who upset top-seed Denver in double overtime on Saturday night, for the AFC title.
