Evolution, big bang theory are lies from 'pit of hell,' rep says

10/6/2012

The fellas on the House Science Committee sure have been outspoken these days. In August, Rep. Todd Akin blew us away with his keen grasp of female biology when he said women's reproductive systems can preemptively shut down  to block pregnancy when they're "legitimately" raped. Now, his erudite colleague on the science committee, Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.), has proclaimed the Earth is not really 4.5 billion years old like everyone thinks, but actually about 9,000 — and all that stuff about evolution and big bang theory, that's just mumbo jumbo. (Or in his words, "lies straight from the pit of hell.") The comments, made at Hartwell's Liberty Baptist Church on Sept. 27, have gone viral, setting off a storm of controversy. [Source]
