Dog steals focus, golf ball during Dunhill Links tournament

10/5/2012

Professional golfers learn how to handle the most serious of doglegs, but Paul Casey wasn't quite ready for a dog's mouth.  While lining up an eagle putt during today's round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, a dog ran onto the green and chomped down on the ball before running off with it. "It's the weirdest thing I've ever had happen on a golf course," Casey said.  "[The dog] sort of followed us down the fairway before taking a real liking to my golf ball." The four-legged thief dropped the ball on the next tee, so Casey finished the hole with a birdie.  A dog stealing an Englishman's ball? Why couldn't that have happened during the Ryder Cup?
