Kate Middleton artist has a better painting, but you can't see it
2/2/2013The artist who painted Duchess Kate Middleton's official portrait, the one slammed by everyone with functional eyeballs for making the beautiful princess look old and tired, is fine with everyone hating his painting. Paul Emsley, the esteemed portraitist who spent three months turning Kate into a grandmother, said: "As an artist, you do understand you’re never going to please everybody." How insightful. But couldn't he please someone, at least? Emsley also said that amid the uproar, he did another drawing of the duchess, one in which she reportedly looks glamorous and "flawless." (Or, you know, how she looks every day.) Want to see it? Tough luck. Emsley says he's keeping that version tucked away in his studio where no one can see it. [Source]
