Shoe CEO wants Obama to wear made-in-the-USA shoes when he's sworn in
1/17/2013When President Obama puts his hand on the Bible to be sworn in for a second term on Monday, at least one person will have eyes only for the POTUS's feet. Paul Grangaard, CEO of Allen Edmonds shoes, was disappointed in 2009, when Obama broke his Wisconsin-based company's streak of supplying the inaugural footwear for every president since Ronald Reagan. Though he'd sent the president-elect two pairs of laceups, Grangaard says he's "highly confident" the president wore Cole Haans the first time around, which, he sniffs, "would not have been made in the United States." In the interim, Grangaard thinks he's spotted Obama in Allen Edmonds, so he has high hopes for this year, noting, "It's a new day." [Source]
