AARP members boo Paul Ryan, presumably want him off their lawns
9/21/2012The AARP turned out to be a tougher crowd for young whippersnapper and vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan than expected. During a stop at the AARP's convention in New Orleans, Ryan told the crowd that the first step to a stronger Medicare was to repeal Obamacare. That statement was promptly met with boos and (we assume) cane-shaking from the audience of America's older citizens. But the frosty reception didn't rattle an unflappable Ryan, who answered the resounding boos and cries of "No!" with "I had a feeling there'd be mixed reaction" before calmly explaining his point. All those P90X workouts must help him stay cool under pressure, because calling the crowd's reaction "mixed" was an optimistic way of putting it.
