Paul Ryan caught red-handed in lie about his marathon performance

Vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan is a known fitness buff and was once a marathon runner -- supposedly a very good marathon runner. Last week he told radio host Hugh Hewitt he had run a sub-3-hour marathon, which is no easy feat. The folks at Runner’s World magazine were so impressed, they looked into it and found that, um, no, he hadn’t. In fact, he’s run only one marathon in his life: the 1990 Grandma's Marathon (!) in Duluth, where his time was 4:01:25. Ryan's camp has already begun to backtrack, saying the race was 20 years ago, and his comments were "to the best of his recollection," proving once and for all that the sport all politicians excel in is spin. [Source]
