Parrot's screeching comes to a halt when he's driving robotic car
12/9/2012No jokes about bird-brained drivers, please. If dogs can handle themselves at the wheel, then surely an African gray parrot is every bit as capable, and car-lengths better than Lindsay Lohan. But Pepper the parrot's wheels weren't just a tinkerer's whim, but were born out of need. Pepper's incessant shrieking whenever he wasn't close to Andrew Gray was driving the University of Florida grad student mad, so he created a robotic luxury ride Pepper can operate via joystick, and that includes bump and collision sensors. There are even floor mats (OK, a newspaper) because parrots don't have time for pit stops. [Source]
