Even Pete Rose is bummed about this year's Hall of Fame shutout
1/11/2013Nice work, Baseball Writers of America: You've made Pete Rose sad. The former Cincinnati Red (and reformed gambler) was upset by the voters' decision not to elect any living players to the Hall of Fame this year. "It's kind of sad because there's a lot of great players that were on the ballot," Rose said. "And I don't know what kind of induction weekend it's going to be now because there's no induction." Rose, who is ineligible for the Hall after admitting to betting on the game, says he'll never stop trying to get his own plaque in Cooperstown. "I won't give up as someone who wants to go to the Hall," he said. "It's the ultimate goal." [Source]
