Man has won 200K carnival-game stuffed animals; gives them to kids

9/5/2012

Peter Drakos is the last man carnies want to see. The car salesman from suburban Detroit is the world’s foremost carnival-game expert, estimating he’s won about 220,000 stuffed animals since 1972. The 64-year-old Drakos, who prefers the name “Peter Magic,” is such a skilled player that some carnivals have set limits on how many prizes a person can win. Drakos, who donates his winnings to children’s charities, said his favorite game is flipping a quarter on a plate. At the 1982 Michigan State Fair, he landed 14 in a row, missed one, then landed 10 more. He won 32 “human-sized” bears in 15 minutes, forcing the booth to shut down. Whoa. [Source]
